In a world where healthcare seems to have no road map, and is confusing and
frustrating, I highly recommend Wendy Lindway as an advocate. She was a big help to
us during a recent melanoma diagnosis for Dennis. She provided information and
resources along with helping us fine tune questions we had for our doctor. She helped
us understand some of the medical terms. She was so caring and comforting as we
processed the diagnosis realizing he had a very aggressive melanoma. She helped us
feel more confident about the surgery and possible treatment. All ended well for Dennis. The surgery was successful and there was no trace of melanoma in the margins. We were so happy and relieved to have Wendy by our side throughout the process. Sincerely,

Wendy is an absolute gem! My entire family could not be more
grateful to have benefited from her services and expertise over
the years. Her vast knowledge and shared resources of both
traditional medicine and holistic alternatives has been beyond
helpful. Whether seeking solutions for pain management and
relief from problematic cold symptoms, to advice and help with
communication involving appropriate scans to request and
important questions to get answered during appointments.
Wendy has been and continues to be my “go to” source for
assistance with anything medical. I trust her completely and have
been put at ease on many occasions by her sincere, genuine and
caring demeanor. It truly feels like she takes us all on as her own
family in times of need and uncertainty. I will continue to call on
Wendy for any concern that arises in the future.

To Whom It May Concern:
Please accept this testimonial on behalf of Ms. Wendy
Lindway. I have known Wendy since 1993 and she was a close,
personal friend of my late wife, Sheryl Smolowitz. Sheryl and
Wendy were childhood friends growing up in Queens, NY.
Sheryl was a remarkable woman—having endured an
incredible SIX cancer diagnoses beginning in 1989 and ultimately
ending with a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in July 2018. Sheryl
passed away in August 2019 and, while Wendy was there for us
all those tumultuous years prior, it was especially within the last
13 of Sheryl’s life that Wendy proved to be a pillar of strength for
both of us. Even though we lived on Long Island and Wendy in
Pennsylvania, we remained very close and she took a vested
interest in the state of our mental health and level of care Sheryl
was receiving at Memorial-Sloan Kettering.
I remember one January morning while I was waiting for
Visiting Nurse Services to arrive and I was beside myself. Sheryl
was in excruciating pain and we were at a crossroads with regard
to possible surgical procedure to alleviate some of the pain she
was experiencing. Wendy called me and we were on the phone
for well over an hour. She advised me about asking for Palliative
Care for Sheryl, the medications she was on, and numerous
questions to ask her doctor upon our next visit. Wendy was
genuinely interested in how I was coping at that time and made a
point of telling me that I should prioritize time for myself, to take
advantage of community resources and to seek support services.
I told Wendy the last time we spoke how I will NEVER forget
how instrumental she was during that extremely difficult time—her
soothing voice, her genuine interest, and her professional advice
she had to offer.
I will FOREVER be grateful to her and I am very lucky to call
her my friend. Sincerely,

If you’re looking for health advocate, I highly recommend Wendy
Lindway. In November 2023, after receiving a chest x-ray, I found
out I had a tumor in my lung. After much testing and biopsies It
was determined that I had NSLC in my lower left lobe of my lung
plus 4 affected lymph nodes near the tumor.
I was going through plenty in the amount of testing I received and
seeing many doctors. Wendy was instrumental in assisting me in
pre-selecting my health care team by determining the best all
around doctor’s competency and patient feedback.
When I had doctors appointments, I would inform the doctor or
healthcare professional that I had a health advocate -Wendy, with
me on my cell phone. Wendy was invaluable in getting difficult
questions answered for me . Also, she thought of many more
important inquiries I would have never even thought of.
I attribute this to her going through cancer detection and
treatment for her own husband, giving her a wealth of invaluable
insights. Her nursing and healthcare background certainly was
huge asset to me. In addition, she’s not afraid to question a
doctor’s opinion, and with polite persistence get a thorough
explanation on why to proceed in that direction.
After my post-surgery treatment was proceeding, I was having a
number of undesirable side effects from the chemotherapy and
immunotherapy. She was able, with tenacity, to get my Oncologist
to explain post treatment scale of reoccurrence. I know Wendy
helped facilitate this very difficult process with determination, both
during treatment and post treatment. Bravo Wendy!

Over the years, I’ve worked with Wendy many times initially for more
straightforward health concerns, but more significantly during a period when I
fractured my ankle. She was incredibly helpful throughout that experience:
before surgery, immediately after, and throughout the recovery process. She
helped me prepare thoughtful questions for my medical team, especially when I
felt overwhelmed or unsure how to communicate concerns particularly when
dealing with office staff or moments when I felt the doctor wasn’t fully hearing
me.
I’ve also reached out to Wendy consistently over time for support related to my
mother-in-law, who has Alzheimer’s disease. From the earlier stages to more
recent developments, Wendy has been an invaluable resource guiding me on
what to watch for, what questions to ask the doctors, and what services or
support systems to explore.
She’s also been there when I’ve had concerns about my children’s health over
the years. Regardless of the condition or situation, I’ve found her guidance to be
spot-on.
One of the things I value most is Wendy’s ability to “reframe” situations,
something she’s naturally skilled at. She helps me express myself in a way that’s
more effective, more likely to be heard, and better understood by medical
professionals. It’s not about not being capable, it’s about being better prepared
and more confident in those important conversations.
As a nurse, Wendy also understands the language of medicine, not just the
jargon, but how to communicate effectively with doctors. She knows how to
help you phrase things so you’re taken seriously. Unfortunately, when patients
come in without that kind of insight, they’re sometimes dismissed. Wendy helps
bridge that gap so that you’re more likely to be respected and listened to.
Thanks to her professional background and her ability to connect, Wendy has
been an incredible support both practically and emotionally. I truly appreciate
the insight and confidence she brings to every situation.
